PROJECTS COMPLETED 2024
HALL AIR CONDITIONING
Two projects completed in 2024 made for a busy time winding up 2024.
Our two major projects for the year were aimed at improving the Wandi Community Centre for our user groups.
Our first project was to improve the amenity of the Wandi Hall for winter and summer use. The installation of reverse cycle air-conditioning did the trick, with two modern units installed on the roof away from those who would like to make life difficult by damaging units on the ground. The job was completed with a neat installation by the contactor, as you can see in the photos. City of Kwinana inspected the installation and approved the job. I should also note this project was funded 100% by the Wandi Progress Association using funds accumulated from hiring the facility.

CLUBROOM CEILING
Our second project was the installation of two ceilings in the Clubrooms. When the building was first designed it had a ceiling included but because of a challenge by another organization funds were reduced and the ceiling removed from the build. Over the years no one considered that the ceiling should be installed to complete the job so we have stepped up and funded the project by 100% ourselves to improve the look feel and amenity of the space for the user groups. The shadow line ceiling was topped with insulation as well to make the space more habitable in those interim days where it’s not too hot or cold for the air-conditioning, therefore saving energy. Part of the project included removing all the electrics so we organized a local electrician to update the lighting to LED along with the emergency lights as well. Ceiling fans were kept and some minor improvements to the security were made.
We still have the painting to do which should be completed in the first month of 2025. We hope the City of Kwinana likes the finished result and approves the upgrade.
