LOCAL CLUB AND COMMUNITY FIRST AID DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING
22 AUGUST 2021

Picture
Part of our successful grant application for a community use defibrillator was a discounted training session with St Johns. Invitations were sent out to local Wandi Community Centre groups that would have direct access to the defibrillator along with local residents. A small interested group participated in a very intense two hour session firstly covering the DRSABCD Action Plan, CPR and finishing with defibrillator use. The outcome was very positive, at its conclusion Katie our St Johns instructor made herself available for questions extending the session by a further hour.
One of the benefits of attending a session like this is getting tips that will help out when you are put in an emergency situation. The tip we were shown was the St John First Responder App a very useful App that can be down loaded to your smart phone and assist with CPR, Defibrillator use, Emergency calling and location, etc. well worth getting.
Thanks to those on committee that organized this important community event along with St John and Lottery West.
