WANDI WOOD CARVERS

Picture
The Wandi Woodcarvers are affiliated with the Western Australia Guild of Woodcarvers that have groups throughout WA. Our club is made up of beginners and excellent experienced advanced carvers who are willing at all times to assist those who are learning.

MEETINGS:
Monday every week from 9.00am - 12noon. Mondays are attended by about 12 - 15 men and women carvers. Our carving sessions are all hands on with members carving, chatting and observing others progress. The urn is always on and tea and coffee freely flows during the session. Fees for our club are linked to the Guild so once you are a Guild member you can attend our group or other groups in Perth. A small fee is charged for each attendance paying for your cuppa and the hire of the room. We also stock a small quantity or carving tools for those starting out until you are able to acquire your own. We also host Carving Guild Weekend Workshops where other clubs can attend and enjoy a social carving day with fellow carvers. Three weekend workshops are held on a Sunday each year. Wandi also participates in the annual Wood Show held at the Agricultural Show Grounds in Perth.

WA WOOD SHOW RAFFLE PRIZE

Every year the Carving Guild participates in the WA Wood Show and as part of the event members produce items for sale or as a raffle prize, raising funds for the Guild. This year Karl and Jim got together and produced this very ornate jewellery box that will be raffled at the show. Jim completed the chip carving in popular and handed the panels over to Karl who then turned them into a very nice jarrah trimed jewellery box. Just look out for the WA Carving Guild stand.
