AUSTRALIA DAY AWARDS 2016
Debbie Cocks was named runner up at the City of Kwinana volunteer of the year awards held on 29th of November.
Debbie has been a member of the Wandi Progress Association for almost 30 years and a committee member for almost as long. Debbie was heavily involved in the organisation of the popular Wandi Fair which ran for 15 years. The Fair assisted in raising funds towards the construction of the Wandi Hall. When the hall was constructed Debbie became the booking contact. As the facilities at the Wandi Community Centre expanded Debbie became responsible for bookings for those facilities as well. It is a role that Debbie still preforms today.
At our 25th anniversary celebrations in 2012, Debbie received a certificate of appreciation for her many years of hard work for the WPA and community.
Debbie’s input over the past 28 years has been considerable and she can look back and feel suitably proud of what she has achieved with the overall development of Wandi Progress Association and the Wandi Community Centre.
