The Wandi Progress Association began discussions with the Town of Kwinana in 2009 to construct new facilities to house permanent clubs in the ever expanding Wandi Community Centre.
Now the Town is a City and the WPA's plan to develop the community site for the benefit of user groups is finally taking shape. Construction will take about 38 weeks, completion is around October 2015.
Once construction is complete the main beneficiaries will be the Wandi Woodturning Group a branch of the Woodturners Association of WA, Scrollsaw Club of WA and the Southern Districts Triton Club. A large recreation room will allow other groups to use the facilities and it's proximity to the Magenup Equestrian Centre will make it ideal for equestrian functions.

BUILDING HANDOVER WAS HELD ON 14 SEPTEMBER 2015
City of Kwinana, Shelford Construction, Architects Hodge Collard Preston and the Wandi Progress Association representatives all participated in a formal handover of the Pavilion to the Wandi Community at 10 am on Monday the 14th September.
Once the handover was complete the Wandi Woodturning Club members and Wandi Scrollsaw Club made up a large working party of volunteers to seal the workshop concrete floor with an industrial non skid finish. The job took two mornings and included floor scraping and cleaning with the cutting in of sealer up to the walls and the rolling of the large floor and storeroom spaces. As there was a little left over the Scrollsaw Club offered to reseal there old work space floor in the Club Rooms, well done.
Monday the 21st September will see the contractor begin sealing the Recreation and amenity rooms with a moisture barrier and Tuesday the parquetry floor will go down. This is a large job taking 10 days, once complete clubs will be able to move into their allocated areas.
