NEIGHBOUR DAY 2023

Neighbour Day 2023 was well attanded by local Wandi residents who enjoyed the free activities, club displays and food. None of this could have been possible without the financial assistance of the City of Kwinana and an equal donation by the Wandi Progress Associatio  (WPA). Thanks to the city for your welcome grant funding.
However there is more to an event like this than just money, volunteers from the WPA were involved in the planning since the end of 2022. Our team leader Debbie Tentori work tirelessly  to complete the necessary application forms to get the go ahead. On top of that we had support from a variety of permanent user groups at the Community Centre that donated their time to showcase their club and talk about their activities. Well done to all for putting on a great display and from the smiles on the kids faces they agree.
Having an outside event always needs background music and the Mucky Duck Bush Band hit the nail on the head, not only do they like to sing and play instruments they also love the interaction with the public, so it didn’t take long for them to get the kids up with their parents and grandparentes dancing to the music.
Well this was a great way to spend an afternoon, I wonder if we will do it all again next year, stay tuned.
